Blog Update: A Spring Fling April

Twelve Restaurant

Last month we started our ‘Spring Fling Offer’ to promote a menu which offers the very best seasonal produce around using ingredients that are at their peak quality for the time of year. We really hope you can enjoy a menu that has been carefully crafted and selected by our team of chefs.

You will find on the menu an array of assorted spring vegetables to accompany the dishes including english asparagus (served with a delectable crispy hens egg as a starter), and the fabulous jersey royal potatoes which have made an appearance on the menu during their short season. The jersey royals owe their fantastic flavour to the unique growing conditions which they experience on the island. They are a fantastic accompaniment to the main course of cod loin.  You will also see a mixture of spring greens on the market and a la carte menu including wild spinach and garden peas, as we really aim to utilise the brilliant seasonal flavours and textures

As is always the case with our market and a la carte menus, they change slightly on a daily basis depending on what is of the highest and freshest quality. For example rhubarb is in fantastic form this season and it features on both menus as a ‘Rhubarb Mess’ with local fisherman’s friend meringue and a rhubarb and custard dessert on the a la carte menu.

Good Friday

Calling all fish lovers…our menu is continually tailored to make the most of the great fish options we have on our doorstep. On good Friday we really aimed to accentuate the quality, with options such as the rare and superb skrei cod (only available between January and April), and delicious wild halibut. In addition, the seasonal high quality salmon has appeared on the menu as the ‘salmon verrine’ starter, accompanied with wild garlic and gin cucumber.

4th April- Comedy Night

Another brilliant evening at the Mushy Pea Comedy Night this month with the fantastic Noel James and Jamie Sutherland entertaining a busy audience with Big Lou. Our next comedy night is on Tuesday 6th June. See our social media page and the poster below for more information.

Friday 28th April - Entertainment Evening with FLIP

We had a night of fantastic live entertainement from Flip alongside a three course meal.  Flip played a host of classic songs to get the audience up and dancing! Take a look at the menu from the evening!

Saturday 15th April- Radio Lancashire + Jarvis wedding at TGH

We had a new chef in the kitchen during the Marsh Mill Easter weekend showcase as a BBC Lancashire presenter; Nish, completed one of her assigned tasks. It was lovely to see a busy Marsh Mill especially in the glorious sunshine.

Later on that afternoon we had the pleasure of catering for another lovely wedding at The Great Hall at Mains for Mr & Mrs Jarvis. The room was dressed to perfection by the brilliant Flower Design and Creative Cover Hire.

Friday 21st- 23rd April

Another busy weekend at the office meant that the restaurant was shut on Friday and Saturday night. We proudly catered for 500 guests  at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on the two nights for the 41 club dinner…Wow what an atmosphere! See below for pictures.

We were at Fleetwood Town twice on this particular weekend however unusually we weren’t catering at the Parkside Suite for one of their football games…On Friday we catered a three course meal for the brilliant Fisherman’s Mission Charity Dinner hosted by George Ayoma

Another great evening at Fleetwood Town for their annual Sponsor and Player Sportsman’s dinner, we served local favourites including Cod Army panna cotta with captain cod biscuit. Special mention to our sponsored no.12 player, Cian Bolger for picking up two awards including Player of the Year!

Attend our last mushy pea comedy night before October...fabulous comedic performances from Brennan Reece, Alex Boardman and of course Lewis Big Lou Jones! Follwed by a meat pie, chips & mushy pea supper. Tickets £15pp.

Friday 30th June: Entertainment evening with The Blue Pig Orchestra

The hugely popular Blue Pig Orchestra are back at Twelve Restaurant to deliver another great evening of entertainment. Tickets are £35pp which includes a three course choice menu. See you then!

Hi all,

We hit the ground running in February as we launched our “LOVE MONTH” Menu offer. The feedback has been very positive and we can only thank all the customers who have enjoyed the dining options! We played on the aphrodisiac theme with a sensual menu featuring gooey deep fired brie, pan fried Scottish salmon and an indulgent amaretto chocolate mousse.

Don’t forget our market menu continues this month: 2 courses for £16.50 or 3 courses for £20!

 

Twelve Restaurant Update

Thursday 9th February

We are delighted to announce that Twelve are supporting the ‘Healthier Fleetwood’ campaign, and we will be involved in the education of healthy eating and nutrition in various Fleetwood schools. The programme has received credited backing from Dr. Mark Spencer to promote prosperity within the local community, and address growing problems that affect people’s wellbeing.  

As part of our involvement we welcome 40 children from Charles Saer School, Fleetwood to the restaurant. Splitting the children into groups we taught them all about nutritional wellbeing and maintaining a balanced diet, the etiquette of dining and how to make fresh pasta and smoothies. We look forward to more involvement with the campaign in the future!

Local favourites, ‘The Versions’ were back at Twelve Restaurant for a night of fantastic live entertainment and a delicious three course meal. Fun filled evening!

Twelve Event Management Update

Sunday 5th February- FTFC Wedding Fair

We had a great afternoon at Fleetwood Football Club wedding fair, meeting lots of brides and grooms to be. Joining us were a multitude of Fylde Coast wedding suppliers. Guests could enjoy the visual and culinary delights of the stalls plus a catwalk performance showcasing the wedding dresses of Blush Brides & Grooms in Poulton. Twelve provided some light refreshment canapes including mini ham hock and pineapple bellini’s, mango and passionfruit panna cotta’s and strawberry cheesecake jarred desserts!

Friday 17th February – Wedding of Mr & Mrs Bernal

We had the pleasure of catering for the lovely Sal and Martin at Browsholme Hall last month. The Tithe Barn was decorated beautifully for the intimate wedding. 27 daytime guests enjoyed an indulgent wedding breakfast including seared scallop and pork belly, fillet of Bowland forest beef and an assiette of chocolate desserts. Delicious!  Congratulations to the happy couple

Sunday 19th February – Browsholme Hall Open Day

We were back at Browsholme Hall on Sunday for their awaited Open Day. Joining us were many great wedding suppliers including Flower Design, creative cover hire, Make It Stand Out photo booth and many more. Team Team had a great afternoon meeting upcoming brides and grooms and showcasing what we offer in a live cooking demo! Congratulations to Browsholme Hall for putting together the day and for launching their highly anticipated pizza ovens!

Saturday 25th March- FTFC VS. Northampton

Twelve started the Saturday off in the Parksuite Suite at FTFC, for another busy match day service! Great 3-0 win against Northampton.

Saturday 25th Feb – Wedding of Mr & Mrs Ingham

It was great to be back at the exquisite; The Great Hall at Mains catering for the wedding of Mark and Leanne. We served a selection of canapes after the ceremony including beer battered Fleetwood fish goujon and a fat chip with seared fillet of beef. Following on from the wedding speeches we delivered a wedding breakfast of chicken liver and honey parfait for the starter, roasted loin of lamb and sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Thank you for choosing Twelve Event Management. Big congratulations to you both!

Saturday 25th March -  Emily’s 21st Birthday

We finished off our Super Saturday at Browsholme Hall. The Tithe Barn was transformed into a medieval banquet setting with 2 long tables seating 40 guests on each.  The evening menu had a relaxed feel, as the guests tucked into arrival canapes and several sharing platters for the starter including woodland mushroom soup with truffle foam, cured and smoked meats and mini pork pies. A selection of sausages then accompanied a main course of ‘Dunsop Bridge’ pheasant. If that wasn’t mouth- watering enough the finale dessert was a large steamed syrup sponge to share, served with vanilla custard! Delicious

Blog Update: A Very Blue January

We would like to begin by wishing all of our customers and friends a very Happy and belated New Year and thank you for your continued support and custom.

Despite a two week break at the beginning of the year we hit the ground running, and it is hard to believe that we are already midway through February.

Twelve Restaurant had a busy previous month as we launched our mid week JANUARY BLUES Offer; of 2 courses for £16.50 including a glass of wine.

However as we enter a new month we have a new LOVE MONTH OFFER running. The menu includes items such as 'Ham, Egg & Pineapple' with toasted brioche for starter, and deliciously tender slow braised feather blade of beef with roast parsnips and truffle mash for main course. Among the puddings you will also find a refreshing mango & passion fruit panna cotta served with mango sorbet. Perfect palate cleanser. Yum!

Despite being relatively quiet on the wedding front this month, we thoroughly enjoyed being part of and catering for Mr & Mrs Williamson’s big day at Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn. Great start to 2017! We look forward to meeting/ seeing again newly weds in February at The Great Hall at Mains and Browsholme Hall!

The restaurant hosted and catered for a lovely baby shower mid January for sixty people. The baby blue theme was reflected in the beautiful table centre pieces by Impress Rooms, Liverpool, and the selection of cakes and scones for afternoon tea!

It has been brilliant to watch the progression of Fleetwood Town this season, with a plethora of wins under their belt against the likes of Coventry and Sheffield United this month. A recent victory against Southend on Saturday 28th January now places them in fourth position in the league. Well done FTFC we look forward to another month catering in the VIP Parkside Suite!

Friday 20th January

What is better than one cooking demonstration?  Two cooking demonstrations. We were lucky enough to be involved in a Wyre Council Event at the Marsh Mill, in light of recent funding for King George’s playing field. The event was attended by Radio Lancashire and The YMCA. Head Chef, Graham, cooked up a storm…even under the added pressure of a live broadcast!

Burns Night - Friday 27th January

As the month drew to a close. We paid homage to the great poet, Sir Robert Burns with a night of fantastic entertainment from Daniel Sings on the saxophone and our live bag piper! The Al La Carte Menu was given a traditional Scottish twist...with of course plenty of haggis, tatties and neeps!

We can’t believe it is December already…Time to dig out those festive jumpers again! While we hope you are looking forward to the festive month ahead, we thought we would take a minute to update you on our last month’s activities.

 

8th November

We kicked off the month with our last comedy night before Christmas on Tuesday 8th November. Big Lou was back with fellow comedians Steve Shanyaski and Steve Harris, who put on a fantastic night of entertainment for guests. The lamb hotpot with minted mushy peas was a popular winner. We can’t wait for the return of the comedy nights in the new year. So keep your eyes peeled on social media for confirmed dates!

10th November

We were also fortunate enough to be nominated in the final for two awards- the ‘Lancashire Life’ Restaurant of the Year Award, and the Taste Lancashire category at the ‘Lancashire Tourism Awards’ (LTA’s). It was fantastic to be in such strong categories, and we had a great night at the LTA'S. Congratulations to all winners and finalists!

Another day in the life of Twelve saw us take on the Wyre Business Awards for 244 people at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood and the High Sheriff Dinner at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for 36 guests.  It was lovely to see so many familiar faces at both events, and it was privilege to cater at the two venues.

27th November

What better way to see in the end of November and get in the festive spirit than with a Christmas Market? Twelve served a succulent hog roast, accompanied with hot mulled wine & cider as a winter warmer. We were all over whelmed at Marsh Mill by the fantastic support of the local community, and we didn’t anticipate such a huge turn out! Thank you to everyone who embraced the cold weather and helped raise money for the brilliant people at Trinity Hospice! Special thanks also to Amanda and Glenn from Rustic to Regal and Caroline for organising the Markets and Light Switch on!

On Wednesday we also had the pleasure of attending the Great Flower Design Bake Off Final…and sampling many delicious cakes and bakes! The charity baking competition raised money in aid of the fantastic charity- North West Children’s Support Group, which helps disadvantaged families in the North West. Big congratulations to Jane and Jason for orchestrating such a brilliant event and raising money for a worthy cause, and of course well done to all winners and participants! We look forward to welcoming two of the winners into the restaurant. Nettie, winner of amateur baker will be spending a day in the Twelve Kitchen with Head Chef Graham…I don’t know who is the lucky one! Runner up in the professional baker’s category, ‘Vicky Cupcake’ also received a meal for two at Twelve! Well done :)

Twelve Restaurant retains Awards

We are very proud and honoured to have been awarded 2 AA rosettes and a Michelin Bib Gourmand for another year. We are grateful to all our team for their dedication, passion and hard work.  They continue to inspire us to push the boundaries of culinary excellence in such a competitive and diverse environment.

We thought we would take the opportunity today to explain a little more about Michelin and AA and their prestigious awards.

 

The Facts

Michelin Bib has evolved from the Michelin Guide, published by the French Company Michelin which offers Michelin stars of excellence to a select number of establishments. To receive a Michelin star, is a highly renowned and respected title on the hospitality scene.

The Michelin Guide dates back to the year 1900 when the French tyre manufacturers; Andre and his brother Edouard published the original addition for French motorists.  However, it wasn’t until 1926, when the guide began to award stars to fine dining restaurants and establishments. 

Since 1926 when the criteria for the starred rankings was published, the Michelin status has been one which arguably every fine dining restaurant has aspired to.
