Twelve Restaurant: One Year Later

Looking back over the last year, we have certainly been on a journey.  It is hard to believe that a year ago today there was an unfortunate accident at the restaurant.  The most important thing was that nobody was injured, including the driver of the vehicle.

We thought we would share some pictures with you of what happened next.

Once the vehicle had been removed work could begin so the restaurant could re open.

Fylde Joinery and Building Services did an amazing job of putting in a false wall so that we could trade as a smaller pop up restaurant and keep all the staff in their jobs.

Fylde Joinery and Building Services did an amazing job of putting in a false wall so that we could trade as a smaller pop up restaurant and keep all the staff in their jobs.

Once the internal wall was up Fylde Joinery set to work to demolish the structurally unsafe wall and start to rebuild the gable end of the building.

It defintely brought a whole new concept and meaning to alfresco dining!

Just in time for Christmas, the temporary inner wall was brought down. To allow the gable wall end to dry, Link Signs and Graphics covered it with a fantastic Love mural allowing us to continue trade in December.

The last of the structural work took place in January, when the damaged floors had been replaced. All was complete. Twelve then kicked in with a refit. The plans and designs for which had been put in place the previous summer with Chris Bradley of Bradley Architecture, but had been placed on hold due to the incident.

We would like to thank Chris Bradley, Fylde Joinery and Building Services, West Lancashire Electrical Contractors, Alternative Lighting Services, Bailey Engineering and Fabrication, Wayne Reeve Scaffolding, Link Signs, Nat West Bank, Darryl Williamson, the very talented Will Bentham and Marc Atherton and the many others that helped on our journey.  Most importantly thanks to our Team at Twelve who have worked tirelessly to keep the business going, and all of our customers for their continued support.

So the butterfly has emerged from its chrysalis a year on, changed, but still sticking to it’s principles to be different and as resilient as ever!

Thanks for coming with us as we embark on our 17th year of trading!

August: Twelve takes on Lancashire

Hi all,

As you may already be aware, this summer has been perhaps the busiest summer to date for Twelve Restaurant & Event Management. We have been lucky enough to work at many fabulous venues and locations stretching across the county. It has been amazing to see months worth of planning finally come together to fulfil the dreams of our customers...hard work really does pay off! Thank you to our contractors and all our clients, we couldn't have done it all without you.

3rd-7th August- Lytham Festival

After a hectic month of July, the start of a new month brought new challenges and venues. For the fourth year running, we were delighted to be invited back to Lytham Festival by Cuffe and Taylor to cater for the VIP Hospitality Marquee. Despite the 'Great' British weather, it was a fantastic five days of entertainment and music, with the likes of Noel Gallagher and Bryan Adams taking to the stage.

14th August- Marine Hall Food Festival

Thousands of people from across Lancashire attended the annual food festival at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood. With over 60 stalls it was a great day to be part of. Our head chef, Graham Floyd held three live cooking demonstrations with his right hand chef, Emily. They began with a starter of seared scallops, before cooking pigeon to sous-vide. The final course consisted of a seasonal gooseberry fool!

STATEMENT

TWELVE RESTAURANT STATEMENT

Dear Twelve Restaurant Customers, Friends and Colleagues,

We just wanted to bring you all up to date with the events of this week.  On Monday afternoon a van travelling down Fleetwood Road North crashed into the side of Twelve Restaurant.  Thankfully the restaurant was closed when the accident occurred and we were the only people in the building.  We were first to the scene to attend to the driver.

Having watched our CCTV footage of the incident we are thankful that no one was hurt as there were numerous pedestrians and children in this location seconds before and after the incident.  Despite this awful incident happening and the damage it has caused, we are just so thankful that there were no injuries to passers by, staff or the driver.

Firstly, we send a massive thank you to all our customers, friends and fellow business colleagues within this community who made contact with us.  We have been overwhelmed by your offer of support, advice and help.  It has been humbling to know that we have so many friends within this wonderful community that we live and trade in.  We cannot thank you all enough.

Secondly, we want to let you all know what is happening.  Twelve Event Management continues to trade and do business as the kitchen has been unaffected by the accident.  So if you have an event with us…. it’s business as normal.  So this week we will see our lovely Bride and Groom at The Great Hall at Mains, our Fleetwood Town supporters at match day VIP hospitality and the amazing fundraisers and supporters of Trinity Hospice at their ball at Blackpool Tower.

The restaurant has however, taken some major structural damage.  We will be closed for a short period of time.  With over 40 staff it is important we need to get up and running as soon as we can and we are working very hard to get to this point.  We will keep you all posted on our re-opening date by social media so please like and share our posts so everyone is up to date with the goings on at Twelve.

We do hope to see you back with us at Twelve very soon and trust you will continue to frequent us at this very difficult and challenging time.

Kindest regards,

Caroline, Paul and Team Twelve
