Blog Update: A Spring Fling April

Last month we started our ‘Spring Fling Offer’ to promote a menu which offers the very best seasonal produce around using ingredients that are at their peak quality for the time of year. We really hope you can enjoy a menu that has been carefully crafted and selected by our team of chefs.

You will find on the menu an array of assorted spring vegetables to accompany the dishes including english asparagus (served with a delectable crispy hens egg as a starter), and the fabulous jersey royal potatoes which have made an appearance on the menu during their short season. The jersey royals owe their fantastic flavour to the unique growing conditions which they experience on the island. They are a fantastic accompaniment to the main course of cod loin.  You will also see a mixture of spring greens on the market and a la carte menu including wild spinach and garden peas, as we really aim to utilise the brilliant seasonal flavours and textures

As is always the case with our market and a la carte menus, they change slightly on a daily basis depending on what is of the highest and freshest quality. For example rhubarb is in fantastic form this season and it features on both menus as a ‘Rhubarb Mess’ with local fisherman’s friend meringue and a rhubarb and custard dessert on the a la carte menu.

Good Friday

Calling all fish lovers…our menu is continually tailored to make the most of the great fish options we have on our doorstep. On good Friday we really aimed to accentuate the quality, with options such as the rare and superb skrei cod (only available between January and April), and delicious wild halibut. In addition, the seasonal high quality salmon has appeared on the menu as the ‘salmon verrine’ starter, accompanied with wild garlic and gin cucumber.

4th April- Comedy Night

Another brilliant evening at the Mushy Pea Comedy Night this month with the fantastic Noel James and Jamie Sutherland entertaining a busy audience with Big Lou. Our next comedy night is on Tuesday 6th June. See our social media page and the poster below for more information.

Friday 28th April - Entertainment Evening with FLIP

We had a night of fantastic live entertainement from Flip alongside a three course meal.  Flip played a host of classic songs to get the audience up and dancing! Take a look at the menu from the evening!

Saturday 15th April- Radio Lancashire + Jarvis wedding at TGH

We had a new chef in the kitchen during the Marsh Mill Easter weekend showcase as a BBC Lancashire presenter; Nish, completed one of her assigned tasks. It was lovely to see a busy Marsh Mill especially in the glorious sunshine.

Later on that afternoon we had the pleasure of catering for another lovely wedding at The Great Hall at Mains for Mr & Mrs Jarvis. The room was dressed to perfection by the brilliant Flower Design and Creative Cover Hire.

Friday 21st- 23rd April

Another busy weekend at the office meant that the restaurant was shut on Friday and Saturday night. We proudly catered for 500 guests  at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on the two nights for the 41 club dinner…Wow what an atmosphere! See below for pictures.

Alongside the Blackpool Tower we were also at our brilliant contract wedding venues; The Great Hall at Mains and Browsholme Hall on Saturday for two weddings! Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Severns and Mr & Mrs Walker on your big day

We were at Fleetwood Town twice on this particular weekend however unusually we weren’t catering at the Parkside Suite for one of their football games…On Friday we catered a three course meal for the brilliant Fisherman’s Mission Charity Dinner hosted by George Ayoma 

 

Monday 24th-  FTFC Sportman’s dinner

Another great evening at Fleetwood Town for their annual Sponsor and Player Sportsman’s dinner, we served local favourites including Cod Army panna cotta with captain cod biscuit. Special mention to our sponsored no.12 player, Cian Bolger for picking up two awards including Player of the Year!

May: Spring Fling Offer

Enjoy a seasonal three course choice menu, prepared by our chefs  + a bottle of wine for £50 per couple. Offer available tuesday, wednesday, thursday until the end of May.

Wednesday 10th May:  Spring Fling Jazz Night.

Live Entertainment from "The Jazz Club", plus a three course meal off our Spring Market menu and a free bottle of house wine for £50 per couple!

Saturday 13th May: World Cocktail Day

Tuesday 6th June: Mushy Pea Comedy Night

Attend our last mushy pea comedy night before October...fabulous comedic performances from Brennan Reece, Alex Boardman and of course Lewis Big Lou Jones! Follwed by a meat pie, chips & mushy pea supper. Tickets £15pp.

Friday 30th June: Entertainment evening with The Blue Pig Orchestra

The hugely popular Blue Pig Orchestra are back at Twelve Restaurant to deliver another great evening of entertainment. Tickets are £35pp which includes a three course choice menu. See you then!
