Twelve Top The Tower!

This year Team Twelve had the honour of catering for the 2012 Trinity Hospice Ball.  Being held in Blackpool Tower’s iconic ballroom, we knew it would be up there with some of Twelve’s most memorable events, not just because of the size of the event but mainly because when catering at the tower you have to bring your own kitchen with you, including the sink.  As you can imagine, the last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind as we made sure that the finest of details was covered.  A few of the team were even treated to the sights and sounds of Blackpool town centre as we delivered in the final equipment at 4am the night before the ball(a few matchsticks were needed the next day).

The beautiful Empress Ballroom.

The Engine Room- not bad considering that this was an empty corridor the day before.

With an army of chefs and front of house at the ready, the evening turned out to be a huge success, filled with fantastic food from us, great entertainment from the Hooper Band and an amazing amount of over £43,000 raised for such a vital and worthwhile charity.  450 people were treated to a delicious menu of:

fleetwood seafood cocktail
prawns, queenie scallops, smoked salmon, spiced tomato mayonnaise

40 hour cooked forest of bowland beef
carrot and swede puree, fondant potato, green beans

twelve’s fairground attraction
cinnamon sugared doughnuts, apple and toffee pannacotta, rocky road ice cream cone, chocolate popcorn, candyfloss

Twelve's Fairground Attraction- Everyone loves a bit of fun at the fair.

With the last coffee poured and plates all cleared, there was nothing else left to do except look back on what had been a fantastic day, that was until it was time to load up the van and leave the building with no sign that we had ever been there.  It was such a special day that we wanted to capture a few memories and hope you like them too.

The room looked stunning.

This was our dessert section- where theres a will, theres a way.
