Who Said January Would Be Quiet?

2013 has certainly started off the way it means to carry on.  There has been so much happening over the last few weeks that this is the first time I have had chance to sit down and fill you in on what the team have been up to.  The first highlight was our Burn's Night which was held on Friday 25th January.  With a themed menu, Scottish delights included haggis burger and cock-a-leekie soup to start, peppered salmon with whiskey sauce or blade of beef for main with the diners having the difficult decision of choosing between the  drambuie parfait with iron brew jelly or traditional cranachan for dessert.

Diners were treated to the sounds of Scotland.
The room fell silent as the sound of Scotland rose from the bar and the piper marched into the restaurant for the formal ceremony.  Tom, our Head Chef, joined in too as he paraded the haggis to the diners before placing it down for the blessing.  The words of Robbie Burn's were heard as the piper brought down his dagger and all raised a wee dram to honour both the man and the night with Flip providing great entertainment to bring the evening to a close.

Our Head Chef Tom & Roy our piper for the night.
That weekend also saw us catering for a Sportsman's dinner at Fleetwood Golf Club, match day hospitality as Fleetwood Town went head to head with Oxford United and then it was time to head back to the restaurant for an evening that was shaken but not stirred.

Hopefully, from that little clue you may have guessed the theme of the evening.  It was a first for Team Twelve as we hosted a private party, James Bond Style.  With almost 100 guests, we had Bond song's being performed in the bar, a vodka luge at the ready, a martini cocktail performance and a 'Jaws' impersonator who kept the guests entertained (he even found time to make a visit to the kitchen).  Delicious walking canapes were enjoyed throughout the evening including, Fleetwood fish cones, sharing bowls including thai green curry and many more.  Lionel Vinyl turned up the volume and a great night was had by all, definately one to put in the album we think.

Our very own Bond Villains.
Flower Design provided the beautiful displays.
You shouldn't mess with Jaws!!!!!!
007 fever spread fast.
Team Twelve ready for action!
007's Favourite at the ready!
The restaurant was transformed.
The following week saw us getting our wedding hats on as we headed down to the Great Hall at Mains to cater for two fantastic couples as well as another round of footy as Fleetwood Town met Bradford, bringing in a sell out crowd of 230 across the hospitality suite.  If this is the way it means to go on, it looks like the team are going to be kept very busy as the wedding season gathers pace, football continues and guests continue to join us at base camp.
