7 Days At Twelve

Here’s a mini insight into 7 days with twelve restaurant catering for 4 weddings, 2 football matches and a very busy restaurant.

Day 1: Bank Holiday Monday – We started off our bank holiday heading down to Highbury Stadium catering for Fleetwood football clubs match day hospitality. We had a great turnout of 194 enjoying their 3 course meal before they head out to the pitch side to witness Fleetwood finish the match against Wycombe with a 1-0 win!

Day 2: Tuesday 22nd April – Tuesday was no day for rest, as the first of our two days that week with no events on it was all hands on deck back at the restaurant preparing for a busy evening ahead. We catered that evening for numerous birthday parties and large tables of ten, some of which enjoyed our seasonal offer menu of 2 courses for £17.50 with a complimentary glass of wine on the side.

Day 3: Wednesday 23rd April – Day 3 of our busy week was the first of our four weddings, our team of chefs split into two teams in order to prepare for the evening ahead in the restaurant and cater for the wedding breakfast at the great hall at mains. The newlywed Mr and Mrs Allen sat with their guests and enjoyed a three course meal, the third course being a his and hers dessert, the boys enjoyed a sticky toffee pudding whilst all the girls enjoyed a chocolate mousse with a delicious tiramisu foam.

Day 4: Thursday 24th April – Wedding number two of the week: as Mr and Mrs Sparrow finished saying their vows in front of their friends and family at the great hall at mains we prepared to turn their ceremony room into a delicately decorated dining room whilst the new bride and groom stepped outside for their photographs. The bride sat down to a tender breast of chicken for her main course, served with baby leeks, peas and courgettes in a creamy white wine sauce topped with a mini puff pastry. Whilst her new groom enjoyed a goat’s cheese galette with plum tomatoes, a rocket salad finished with a pesto and balsamic glaze.
Meanwhile back at the restaurant preparation for another busy evening was underway with a 30th birthday celebration being amongst the evening’s schedule.

Day 5: Friday 25th April – As the team prepared for our penultimate wedding of the week for Mr and Mrs Gallagher. The team back at the restaurant both front of house and back of house had a very busy night ahead of them with a table of 46 booked in amongst numerous other booking for another 30th birthday celebration. This one however was a surprise so all guests arrived before the birthday girl who looked overwhelmed on arrival. It was a pleasure catering for such an occasion.

Day 6: Saturday 26th April – This day was by far the busiest of our week, we started off the day with two teams split between Fleetwood town and the great hall at mains. The team at Fleetwood was catering for maximum capacity before the guests went out to watch Fleetwood play Southend United, which ended with a 1-1 draw.
Whilst this was underway there was another team at the great hall at mains preparing to serve our biggest and final wedding of the week, the newlywed Mr and Mrs Peacock sat down with 102 guests to enjoy their wedding breakfast, all of whom got the chance to indulge in a delicious rustic strawberry pavlova with chantilly cream for their sweet.
All the while the team was returning from a busy match day at Fleetwood back to the restaurant to get ready for a very busy Saturday evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great as families and friends dined together and enjoyed their evening out, along with another birthday celebration which saw a table of 24 come together to celebrate.

Day 7: Sunday 27th April – As the final day of Twelve’s busy week came around we had two services left in the restaurant before the week came to a close. We dined for a selection of people who came out to enjoy Sunday lunch with us and then again in the evening we had our last birthday celebration of the week come through the doors for a great evening.

All in all we here at Twelve had a very busy yet successful week which we got to enjoy at numerous different venues with numerous different people and parties.
